גיא חיורוני הוא אמן קרמיקה ופסל, חי ועובד בירושלים. עבודתו עוסקת בזהות, בזיכרון, בנוכחות ובהיעדר שבאים לידי ביטוי באמצעות דימוי חוזר של בגד נטול גוף.

גיא מפסל בחומר פסלים שבבסיסם הסימטרי נבנים על אבניים ובהמשך מעובדים ומעוצבים ידנית. בתהליך יצירה איטי שמשלב שיטות מגוונות של עבודה בחומר קרמי, מתהווים בהדרגה מיני לבוש ובגד שנושאים בצורתם הן את סימני הגוף הנעדר והן את הקודים החברתיים, התרבותיים והאישיים שהבגד עצמו נועד לסמל.

הבגד בעבודותיו של גיא אינו מגלם רק מעטפת לדמות חסרה, אלא הוא מבקש לייצג גם את הדמות עצמה באמצעות היעדרה. הקפלים הרכים, הקרעים החושפים והרומזים והמשיכות הנמתחות בחומר המפוסל כמו מציעים לנו להתבונן בפסל ולצייר בדימיוננו את מראה של הדמות הנעדרת מתוכו, את אופיה, את כל הווייתה.

עבודותיו הוצגו בתערוכות יחיד וקבוצתיות בישראל ומחוצה לה, ובהן תערוכת היחיד "לבוש בחומר" בתיאטרון ירושלים.

Guy Hivroni is a ceramic artist and sculptor who lives and works in Jerusalem. His work explores identity, memory, presence, and absence through the recurring image of clothing without a body.

​

Guy creates ceramic sculptures whose symmetrical foundations are formed on the wheel and then worked and shaped by hand. Through a slow process that combines a range of ceramic techniques, garments gradually emerge, carrying in their forms both traces of the absent body and the social, cultural, and personal codes that clothing itself is meant to signify.

​

In Guy’s work, the garment is not merely a covering for an absent figure. Through that very absence, it also seeks to represent the figure itself. Soft folds, revealing and suggestive openings, and stretched tensions in the sculpted clay invite us to look at the work and imagine the figure that is missing from it: its appearance, its character, its entire presence.

​

Guy’s work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Israel and internationally, including his solo exhibition *Dressed in Clay* at the Jerusalem Theatre.
