Marie is a co-op, not-for-profit gallery founded in 2017 as an independent arts center. The gallery mounts exhibitions on a non-commercial basis, and its members see themselves as an integral part of the local community. The members of Marie Gallery promote artistic discourse between artists and strive to make Jerusalem a central city for the arts.

The Marie Gallery showcases varied artistic approaches, from figurative painting to conceptual installations. Marie Gallery is a space for exhibitions and serves as a “lab” where its members can experience creative processes.

The gallery calendar includes solo and group shows, meet-the-artist events, talks, live music events, performances, and book launches. As part of the contemporary Israeli art scene, Marie Gallery hosts local and international guest artists and participates in local and international arts festivals.    

The Marie Gallery is located in an apartment previously owned by Avraham and Marie Awadish, close to Mahane Yehuda Market, in the heart of Jerusalem. Avraham Awadish was a master stonemason, and the house was open to art and culture, inspiring the initial group of artists who founded the gallery.
