Ruth Eliav, an Israeli artist working in Tzur Hadassa and Jerusalem. Graduate of the Jerusalem Studio School (JSS), founded by Israel Hershberg, and holds an M.A. in Art Theory and Policy from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. Alongside her artistic practice, she teaches drawing and painting at the Israel Museum.

Eliav’s works move between figuration and material abstraction, driven by a deep observation of nature and the relationships between light and matter. Working in charcoal drawing and oil painting, she examines the tension between order and disorder, presence and disappearance. Through these mediums, she creates a sensitive pictorial language that invites the viewer into a slow, concentrated, and nearly meditative experience of observation.
